Progressive and technical speed/thrash metal band DONOR originated in Amsterdam in 1985. During their ten years of existence, the band released two full-length albums, Triangle of the Lost in 1992 and Release in 1994, while also recording several demos and appearing on the Metal In Rocks compilation, showcasing some of the best bands from the Dutch metal scene.
Their debut Triangle of the Lost presented a highly technical thrash metal style inspired by bands such as Watchtower and Psychotic Waltz. The album was followed by tours with D.R.I., as well as support shows for Nuclear Assault, Confessor and Nocturnus. A later tour saw DONOR supporting Psychotic Waltz.
For their second album Release, the band underwent a major musical and line-up change with the arrival of a new vocalist. The album took a different direction, incorporating strong Savatage influences while maintaining the high level of quality established on their debut. After another tour, DONOR called it a day in 1995, with their final show taking place at De Melkweg in their hometown of Amsterdam.
Twenty-eight years later, both albums were finally reissued, bringing DONOR's name and highly regarded Dutch technical metal back to a new generation of listeners.
