Cosmic Jaguar was formed in April 2022 by Sergio Lunatico and Denis Tornillo, who discovered an immediate chemistry when they started playing together. Despite the extreme circumstances of an active phase of the war in Ukraine, the band wrote and recorded a full album in just four months. The material originated with songs Sergio had written but that didn't completely fit his other band, Bestial Invasion. For Cosmic Jaguar, those ideas became something far more adventurous: an avant-garde and technical thrash metal album built around Aztec mythology and culture, incorporating elements of Latin music, funk, jazz, death metal, black metal and world music, alongside Aztec folk instruments and female vocals. Metal Warrior Records signed the band in late 2022 and presents their debut album, The Legacy Of The Aztecs.
