Black Knight

BLACK KNIGHT is a Dutch heavy metal band with roots reaching back to the 1980s. The band developed its own classic heavy metal sound over the years, with many of the songs that would eventually appear on Tales From The Darkside originating in the 1980s and being developed and refined for years before finally being recorded for the album.

Tales From The Darkside was originally released in 1999 and quickly became regarded as a classic of Dutch heavy metal. Despite its late-1990s release date, the album deliberately looked back to the traditional metal sound of an earlier era, with the songwriting and production giving it the feeling of a record that could have appeared a decade earlier. A number of the songs remain part of BLACK KNIGHT's live repertoire to this day.

Metal Warrior Records brought Tales From The Darkside to vinyl in 2019, giving this long-running Dutch metal band a new physical edition of one of its most important releases. BLACK KNIGHT continue to approach their live performances in the old-school spirit: no backing tracks or samples, just a genuine heavy metal band playing its music loud and direct.
